About The Position

The College of Engineering, Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering is seeking applicants for a part-time job of Undergrad Research Assistant. The hourly rate for this job is $15.00. Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.

Requirements

• Must be a current Penn State student (not employed previously at the university) or an external applicant.
• Must be able to apply internally through Workday if a current Penn State employee or student.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, fabrication, and testing of mechanical fixtures for battery pack assembly and research.
• Assist with CAD design, prototyping, fixture validation, and technical documentation.
• Develop fixture concepts for locating, holding, and securing battery pack components.
• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
• Perform fit checks and evaluate fixture alignment, rigidity, and repeatability.
• Document design iterations, test results, and engineering changes.
