About The Position

Conanicut Marina is hiring an unarmed Security Officer for a marina in Jamestown, RI. This position is suited for experienced, professional officers who are comfortable working in an outdoor multi-site marina and are able to enforce no trespassing policies with consistency and sound judgment. Active assignments require professionalism, attentiveness, and precise reporting throughout each shift. Part-time, overnight openings are available with shift assignment based on operational needs and candidate availability. Officers assigned to the marina locations are responsible for enforcing after hours access, maintaining accurate logs of all activity throughout each shift. Officers are expected to follow post orders precisely, communicate clearly with site management, and document all activity with accuracy and professionalism. Officers must be comfortable utilizing computers and mobile reporting applications to complete digital shift reports and activity logs in real time.

Requirements

Valid Rhode Island Security Officer License preferred
Minimum one to two years of security experience preferred
Basic smartphone proficiency for digital reporting and access logging
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professional appearance and demeanor
Ability to remain calm, decisive, and professional under pressure
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

Enforce restricted area protocols and deny entry to non-marina personnel or non marina-customers.
Conduct patrols of assigned areas and monitor for unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
Document incidents, access violations, and unusual activity in detailed written reports.
Communicate concerns and escalate incidents to site management promptly and local police as needed.
Assist with de-escalation of minor disturbances while maintaining post control.
Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times on post.
Follow all post orders, access control procedures, and client directives without exception.
Enforcing after hours access.
Maintaining accurate logs of all activity throughout each shift.
Utilizing computers and mobile reporting applications to complete digital shift reports and activity logs in real time.
