About The Position

The Unarmed Security Officer provides security coverage at Washington Park in Maryland. The position includes a stationary watch at the Security Desk, alternating hourly with extensive indoor foot patrols using phone software and checkpoints. Patrols are limited to buildings; there are no outdoor patrols. The officer may walk between nearby buildings outdoors in varying weather conditions, but is not required to stand outdoors. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Maryland Guard Card.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to perform extensive walking, including walking down stairs.

Responsibilities

• Follow prescribed Standard Operating Procedures for basic and emergency responses.
• Liaise with security and building management to communicate, escalate, and resolve problems.
• Conduct indoor building patrols, checking for physical damage, water damage, leaking pipes, and secure bathrooms.
• Conduct extensive foot patrols using phone software and checkpoints, alternating hourly with stationary watch at the Security Desk.
• Maintain a stationary watch at the Security Desk.
