About The Position

NeighborHealth, formerly East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, is a large community health center serving the greater Boston area with a commitment to community health and well-being. This position is in the Public Safety department and is a full-time role located at 10 Gove Street – Taylor Building.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• CPR and First Aid certification required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Basic computer skills for report writing and monitoring systems
• Clean background check and drug screening required

Nice To Haves

• Previous security experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, preferred

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas of the healthcare facility on foot to ensure safety and security
• Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, and sensitive/restricted areas
• Control access by verifying identification and visitor credentials
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, including disturbances or medical emergencies
• De-escalate conflicts using calm and professional communication
• Write clear and detailed incident and daily activity reports
• Assist staff, patients, and visitors with directions and general inquiries
• Enforce facility policies and procedures in a respectful and professional manner
• Coordinate with local law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary
• Monitor CCTV systems and other security equipment
