About The Position
Guardian Service Industries, a 4th generation family-owned corporation established in 1918, provides comprehensive facility management services including Janitorial, Security, Pest Control, and Engineering & Operations staffing. We serve over 1,000 clients across various sectors on the East Coast and New England. This role is for a Security Guard Floater who must be available for morning, evening, and overnight shifts.
Requirements
- Valid Security Guard License, as dictated by state legislation
- 8 hour certificate
- 16 hour certificate
- Must be able to adapt physically and to the changing needs and priorities of the site.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patrols of the site interior and perimeter to identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions.
- Evaluate situations and make logical decisions on how to proceed and direct work.
- Coordinate expedient responses to emergency conditions, including fires, safety hazards and threats to life and/or property in a calm, rational and persuasive manner.
- Handle undesired conduct, violations of building policy and civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of guests, employees, patrons and property.
- Monitor site for any unusual activity.
- Report suspicious behavior via radio to the supervisor on duty.
- Report any alarms similarly.
- Maintain surveillance, including security camera footage, and reporting of any suspicious persons and/or packages.
- Execute a number of comprehensive and integrated security measures and countermeasures.
- Adapt physically to the changing needs and priorities of the site.
