About The Position

They also take action when unusual events occur, escalating to appropriate professionals when necessary.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in bike riding
  • Valid TX Driver's License (CURRENT - NOT suspended or revoked)
  • 1+ year in a high-contact environment
  • Outreach/Behavioral health support background
  • De-escalation skills
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Must be able to understand and follow instructions provided in Post Orders or by supervisory personnel and accurately retain information for recall at a later time.
  • Must communicate clearly and effectively with others.
  • Must use appropriate method of communicating in a reasonable manner in stressful situations.
  • Must be capable of rapidly making sound decisions and using good judgment in all situations.
  • Must have ability to effectively work in fast-paced environments with constantly changing priorities and with the strictest of confidentiality.
  • Must be capable of using telephones, two-way radios, and common office equipment. (Some assigned duties may require proficiency with computer-based research and software programs --Training will be provided)
  • Must remain alert and vigilant while on duty in order to detect and safely respond to unusual and emergency situations rapidly.
  • Must maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include walking, running, or climbing stairs rapidly during emergency situations. Duties may also require standing, bending, lifting, sitting for extended periods, and frequently operating office equipment.
  • Must be able to perform outdoor duties during all types of weather conditions.
  • Must meet all physical requirements listed on BBB application.
  • You're not at least 18.

Responsibilities

  • Be Visible, and Be Really Friendly: Our job is to be a visible presence and create continual friendly interactions with the people in the public space we serve, and to be a reassuring, helpful presence.
  • Keep Moving to Serve as a Deterrent: You'll move through your assigned zone on foot, bike or vehicle, maintaining a visible presence to deter unwanted activity and socially unacceptable behaviors. Of course, this means plenty of walking and standing.
  • Proactively Address Issues Courteously: We want you to use the training you'll be provided to interact with socially unacceptable behaviors, such as panhandling and disruptive behaviors, in a respectful way.
  • Ongoing Reporting: Be comfortable using our simple smartphone app to report normal activities and incidents.
  • Conduct indoor/outdoor security patrols of buildings, facilities, and property at assigned site to deter criminal activity. This may include video surveillance, foot, bicycle, and/or mobile patrolling methods.
  • Control access in and out of client's property. Perform inspections of all persons and items brought in to or leaving property in accordance with client directives.
  • Direct and control pedestrian and/or vehicular traffic on client's property.
  • Monitor conditions around client's property by use of two-way radios, fire alarm, intrusion, and/or surveillance systems.
  • Secure and safe-guard proprietary and/or confidential information, documents, or data.
  • Conduct safety awareness and fire watch patrols as required.
  • Interpret and follow verbal and/or written orders, directives, or instructions provided by Brantley Management personnel or the client's representative.
  • Immediately respond to emergency situations where life-threatening, risk to property, or other disturbance conditions may exist. Observe & report your findings immediately to the appropriate persons (i.e.: Emergency Services, Brantley Management, Client Representative, etc...)
  • Produce clear, legible, and concise written documentation when required.
