About The Position
Kellington is seeking dedicated and highly professional School Security Officers (SSOs) for the upcoming academic year. These roles support a safe and positive learning environment across various school districts in and around the Greater Pittsburgh region. Schedules & Compensation: Start/end times, work calendars, and pay rates vary by district.
Requirements
- Ability to pass all required clearances
- Physical fitness certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven ability to collaborate in team environments and work independently as needed
Nice To Haves
- NASRO (National Association of School Resource Officers) Certification
- ACT 126 – Mandated Reporter Training
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
Responsibilities
- Engage proactively with students, staff, and school administrators
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to escalated situations and emergencies
- Support de-escalation efforts for students in crisis
- Monitor school grounds, including door and window security checks
- Assist with traffic control and pedestrian safety on campus
- Promote and maintain strong partnerships with community stakeholders
- Uphold and enforce school policies and behavior expectations
