About The Position

Sunstates Security is currently hiring for Unarmed, Flex Security Officers in the El Paso, TX area. The positions will be for all shifts, and all days of the week - including weekends, and offers a pay rate of $18.50/hr, paid weekly. The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company’s operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel. The scheduling parameters and expectations for a flex officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a flex: You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment. Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need. You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs. Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week’s schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift. You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability described on this sheet, you must communicate this with your supervisor, so they know not to schedule you. For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. If you refuse more than 20% of shifts for which you are called in, this could negatively impact your employment status with the company.

Requirements

Active Texas Level II Security License in hand
Pass Background and Drug Screen
Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
Minimum 1 year of unarmed security experience
Open availability to work any day including weekends and holidays as needed
Willing to work overtime as required
Knowledge of Access Control Systems, CCTV Systems and Alarm monitoring
High School diploma or equivalent
Level II Texas Security License

Responsibilities

Read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Act quickly and efficiently according to Post Orders and SOP directives.
Provide trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes.
Be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need.
Accept shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described.
Communicate unavailability on upcoming dates or times to supervisor.
Work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called in for short-notice call-ins.
