About The Position

Ball Memorial Hospital is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Vascular Technologist for a day shift opportunity. The scheduled working hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday with rotating coverage for weekends and holidays. This role provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound to generate non-invasive images of the vascular system. The technologist possesses knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology, evaluates images for diagnostic quality, and makes necessary adjustments to capture the best possible images. They collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information and ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures by explaining the process, positioning patients correctly, and adjusting equipment as needed. The role also complies with vascular imaging protocols per accreditation guidelines and provides intraoperative ultrasound as requested.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Active status through one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): Registered Vascular Technologist - Vascular Technology, RVT (VT); Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Vascular Sonographer, RVS; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT): Registered Technologist - Vascular Sonography RT(VS).

Nice To Haves

  • May also require Advanced Life Support certification, if applicable.
  • May require experience in diagnostic ultrasound, if applicable.
  • May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
  • May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.
