The Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer) provides patient services utilizing ultrasound imaging equipment, making a record of the exam produced for interpretation by the radiologist. May assist in other Medical Imaging divisions as trained. This role requires schedule flexibility, punctuality, and the ability to work well under pressure. The technologist will communicate complex information, set priorities, organize and coordinate multiple tasks, and manage time effectively. They will work cohesively with all levels of hospital personnel and physicians. The role involves providing personal care and safe transfers, including proficiency with adaptive equipment. Strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills are essential. The technologist will handle confidential materials, comply with the corporate compliance plan, and participate in hospital performance improvement initiatives. They will keep patients and their significant others informed of exam status, respond to patient requests promptly, and ensure patient needs are met. The technologist performs patient ultrasound services according to department policies, procedures, and regulatory guidance, accurately interprets physician's orders, assists in maintaining patient and department records, and ensures patient safety.
