Requirements

  • Must be flexible in covering different locations.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography with 1-3 years work experience.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification is mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification required.
  • 1-3 years of Ultrasound Experience

Responsibilities

  • Performs sonographic procedures according to department standards in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provides patient education in the form of written material and/or verbal explanation prior to, during and subsequent to the procedure in order to reduce the patient’s anxiety and enhance his/her comfort zone with respect to tolerance of the procedures.
  • Produces examinations that meet image quality standards in accordance to department protocols.
  • Submits images for physician interpretation.
  • Verifies accuracy of: patient demographic information, pertinent clinical diagnosis, and required technical results.
  • Data must be entered accurately and in a timely fashion to provide optimal patient care.
  • Verifies all technical data entry components are complete prior to the end of shift.
  • Monitors stock of supplies in imaging rooms to assure their regular availability by timely reordering, rotation of dated items, and by maintenance of a clean and orderly environment.
  • Reports incidences of equipment failure.
  • Actively supports organizational changes.
  • Adheres to institutional safety procedures as described in the institutional safety program.
  • Actively participates in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
  • Works closely with nurses and physicians to achieve positive outcomes and optimal patient flow.
  • Performs job functions while modeling service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
