The Ultrasound Technologist performs or assists in ultrasound examinations, renders technical assistance to the Radiologist, and maintains and cares for all ultrasound equipment. This role involves preparing patients, operating and adjusting ultrasound equipment, communicating with patients and staff, and analyzing sonographic findings to assist in diagnosis. The technologist is responsible for ensuring the quality and completeness of examinations, minimizing patient exposure to acoustic energy, and maintaining a safe working environment. Additionally, the role may involve administrative tasks such as scheduling and answering telephones.
