About The Position

This per-diem position is available at MGH Waltham, with the department open 6 days a week (Monday-Saturday). The role is responsible for providing quality patient care while producing ultrasound images and patterns used for patient diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include completing scans effectively and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of patient care to provide a remarkable patient experience.

Requirements

Certificate/Diploma in medical imaging/ultrasound required
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required within 90 days
BLS required within 90 days
Ultrasound scanning experience 0-1 year preferred
Good communication skills.
Ability to effectively evaluate and problem solve.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to guide, teach, and motivate others.
Good business acumen skills.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree preferred

Responsibilities

Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures which may include transporting, transferring, immobilizing, and positioning patients
Explain procedures to patients taking into consideration physical and emotional needs
Independently perform Ultrasound exams on patients providing high quality images
Records digital images as directed for radiologist interpretation
Assists physician in needle biopsies, renal biopsies, etc.
Maintains pertinent records
