Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations as ordered by a physician and according to established protocols. Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the exam, answering questions, and minimizing anxiety. Obtain relevant patient history and clinical information prior to imaging. Verify patient identity and ensure accurate entry of patient demographics in the imaging system. Operate ultrasound equipment safely and effectively to obtain diagnostic-quality images. Ensure images are complete, properly labeled, and available for provider interpretation. Assist radiologists or providers during ultrasound-guided procedures when required. Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times. Follow infection control practices and maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and equipment. Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations; maintain awareness of emergency equipment locations. Perform basic equipment checks and report equipment issues or malfunctions per department procedures. Restock supplies in assigned areas as needed. Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, providers, and other healthcare team members. Complete exams within expected time frames while maintaining quality and patient safety. Comply with all organizational, departmental, and regulatory requirements.
