Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school for Ultrasound Technology
- ARDMS (OB, AB, or RVT) OR CCI (RVS)
- Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Manual dexterity for manipulating function of equipment
- Ability to communicate with patients and other Health professionals
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions
- Proficient in the use of MediTech, PACS
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of GE Ultrasound unit preferred
- Breast Registry Experience Preferred
Responsibilities
- Performing ultrasound scanning
- Handling problems that may arise from patients discomfort
- Discussing cases with radiologist and referring physicians
- Positioning and transferring patient to and from the ultrasound table using proper safety techniques
- Preparing patient for examination and explaining procedure to patient while performing study
- Assisting physicians during interventional procedures
- Disposing of biomedical waste using CDC and OSHA guidelines
- Maintaining cleanliness of examining room and ultrasound machines
- Differentiating artifacts from normal and pathological process
- Correlating clinical history with the test performed
- Preparing study for Radiologist reading utilizing PACS
- Answering phones and giving appointment information
- Calling the floor to transport patient for test
- Maintaining adequate room supplies such as respiratory and suction tubing
