Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school for Ultrasound Technology
  • ARDMS (OB, AB, or RVT) OR CCI (RVS)
  • Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Manual dexterity for manipulating function of equipment
  • Ability to communicate with patients and other Health professionals
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions
  • Proficient in the use of MediTech, PACS

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of GE Ultrasound unit preferred
  • Breast Registry Experience Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performing ultrasound scanning
  • Handling problems that may arise from patients discomfort
  • Discussing cases with radiologist and referring physicians
  • Positioning and transferring patient to and from the ultrasound table using proper safety techniques
  • Preparing patient for examination and explaining procedure to patient while performing study
  • Assisting physicians during interventional procedures
  • Disposing of biomedical waste using CDC and OSHA guidelines
  • Maintaining cleanliness of examining room and ultrasound machines
  • Differentiating artifacts from normal and pathological process
  • Correlating clinical history with the test performed
  • Preparing study for Radiologist reading utilizing PACS
  • Answering phones and giving appointment information
  • Calling the floor to transport patient for test
  • Maintaining adequate room supplies such as respiratory and suction tubing
