About The Position

As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the direction of a physician to support accurate diagnosis and patient care. This role requires strong technical skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing an excellent patient experience. Candidates may be considered for Specialty Technologist in Training roles based on current enrollment or participation in an approved ultrasound training program.

Requirements

  • Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, pediatric, and vascular)
  • Health Services/BCLS - Basic life support (Certification for Healthcare Providers)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 or more years of experience
  • Specialty Technologist in Training candidates actively enrolled in or approved for an ultrasound training program

Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound exams in accordance with department protocols and physician orders
  • Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation
  • Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy prior to submission
  • Complete studies within expected timeframes while maintaining patient care and quality standards
  • Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and address questions or concerns
  • Maintain ARDMS certification and modality-specific competencies
  • Operate ultrasound equipment and related systems to produce high-quality images
  • Follow infection control and sterile technique protocols
  • Accurately document procedures, patient information, and any adverse reactions
  • Support students and team members with training, procedures, and exam protocols
  • Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, and quality assurance
