About The Position

Responsible for performing diagnostic sonographic examinations using high-frequency sound waves to image internal organs in the diagnosis of disease. This role requires maintaining a professional and friendly attitude, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to established protocols, operating and adjusting equipment to obtain high-quality images, and preparing and positioning patients for procedures. Analysis of images and communication of findings to physicians for interpretation and diagnosis are key responsibilities. Maintaining patient records with accuracy and confidentiality is also essential. The role requires knowledge of PACS, RIS systems, and general computer skills. CPR certification, OSHA and HIPPA training are required annually. The technologist must be willing to register in all areas of ultrasound performed at RMI, including ABD, OB/GYN, Breast and Vascular registries, and stay current on continuing education. Attendance at meetings and training sessions may be required, occasionally outside of regular working hours.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • Minimum of one (1) -three (3) years of experience in a clinical setting
  • Must hold at least one (1) registry with the ARDMS
  • Must continue to maintain continuing education credits and registry requirements in compliance with the ARDMS.
  • Must be willing to register in all ARDMS registries required by RMI including, ABD, OB/GYN, Breast and Vascular. A one (1) year time period is allotted to obtain any new registry.

  • Be willing to learn new exams/procedures as needed to be an integral part of the ultrasound team accommodating the needs of our patients and referring physicians.
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to established protocols.
  • Knowledge of ultrasound equipment and imaging techniques.
  • Ability to operate and adjust equipment settings to obtain high-quality images.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Analyze images and communicate findings to physicians for interpretation and patient diagnosis.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality of all medical information.
  • Be knowledgeable of the fundamentals and comfortable with the everyday use of PACS, RIS systems, as well as general computer skills required to complete daily tasks.
