About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist for our Edgewood Ultrasound department located within the Edgewood hospital. Shift/Hours: Full Time 36 Hours, Split 1/2 Shift 24/36 Option Professionally trained technologist familiar with various ultrasound modalities for the completion of invasive and non-invasive examinations. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Requirements

  • Graduate of either an ARDMS or ARRT approved program
  • Must be in the process of being certified by the ARDMS or ARRT in their specific specialty area
  • Complete appropriate ARDMS or ARRT certification in their specialty area within 12 months of Ultrasound program completion.
  • CPR certified
  • Extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, ultrasound equipment, QC and HIS.
  • Will be familiar with all B-mode, real time, and color flow application.
  • Adequate clinical experience from an approved program.

  • Failure to achieve certification within 12 months may result in end of employment or alternative job placement.
  • For associates that drive company vehicles: Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Must be insurable by the Hospital insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

  • Operates all equipment in an effective, safe and efficient manner
  • Must assist the physicians with invasive procedure and must be able to prep and monitor the patients during the procedure.
  • Must be proficient in all aspects of ordered US procedure.
  • This service provides diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist.
  • Effectively utilizes all necessary computer systems in compliance with HIPPA guidelines.
  • Performs routine maintenance in cleaning all equipment.
  • Complies with house-wide BSI precautions and follows recommendations for cleaning transducers.
  • Follow the safety steps required to perform their duties and be in compliance with medical, state and federal safety standards.
  • They must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriately.
  • Obtains and records all patient data as required by the medical center, state, JCAHO or other agencies.
  • Ensure proper charging of all procedures, coding, and modifiers are correct.
  • Reviews images for high quality.
  • Assist in performing QC, QA, QI or ACR as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
