About The Position

This is a full-time General Ultrasound Technologist position at Arnett Hospital with a 4x10 schedule from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM. On-call coverage consists of one night per week and one weekend per month. Holiday coverage is rotated equally throughout the team. The role provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound to generate images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and blood flow. The technologist is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, evaluating images for diagnostic quality, and making necessary adjustments. They collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information, ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures by explaining the process, positioning patients correctly, and adjusting equipment as needed. Familiarity with current scan protocols, high-level disinfection practices, and assisting with minimally invasive procedures is expected. The role also involves providing intraoperative ultrasound as requested and familiarity with ultrasound contrast indications and administration practices.

Requirements

• 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• For ACR accredited ultrasound departments: Requires active status through one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS): Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Abdomen, RDMS(AB), Obstetrics & Gynecology, RDMS(OB/GYN), or Pediatric Sonography, RDMS(PS), and/or Registered Vascular Technologist - Vascular Technology , RVT(VT); American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT): Registered Technologist - Sonography, RT(S) or Vascular Sonography, RT(VS) ; or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Vascular Sonographer, RVS; as required by facility accreditation, if applicable.
• Exception: if performing breast ultrasound only, must obtain credential through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS): RDMS(BR); or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT): Registered Technologist - Sonography & Breast US, RT(S)(BS), or Radiography , Mammography & Breast Ultrasound, RT(R)(M)(BS); within 18 months of hire.
• For non-ACR accredited ultrasound departments: Requires candidates to meet one of the two following conditions: Must be actively pursuing ultrasound education and have already passed the ARDMS physics boards, or must have graduated from an ultrasound education program.
• For non-ACR accredited ultrasound departments: Requires certification through one of the methods mentioned in the accredited section above within 12 months of hire.
• May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
• May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.
