Responsible for providing quality patient care while producing ultrasound images and patterns used for patient diagnosis and treatment. The responsibilities also include completing scans effectively and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of patient care possible in order to provide the most remarkable patient experience.

Requirements

  • Other Certificate/Diploma Diagnostic Imaging required or Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Diagnostic Medical Sonographer required
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer -required
  • Ultrasound Technologist minimum of 1 year of OB experience - this a required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of computer operations relating to Imaging, Electronic Health Records, Reporting Systems, PACS, and all Hospital Information Systems that integrate with the Department of Radiology, relating to patient information and management.
  • Possesses analytical abilities necessary to effectively utilize advanced knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, procedures, and anatomy.
  • Exemplifies flexibility and willingness to adapt to the operational needs and presents as a positive representative of the Department of Radiology.
  • Excellent attention to detail, written, and communication skills; must be able to read and write in English.
  • Use independent judgment and initiative under pressure in a variety of situations.
  • Maintains effective working relations and communication with colleagues and patients.

Nice To Haves

  • Sonography [R.T.(S)(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Confirm patient identity using two identifiers (full name and DOB). Review exam orders and clinical history. Prepare and clean equipment and rooms; restock supplies as needed.
  • Clearly explain procedures, considering patient comfort and confidentiality. Collaborate with leadership to ensure efficient workflow and scanner use. Provide care within the scope of training and licensure.
  • Participate in on-call, holiday, and flexible shift coverage as needed.
  • Perform ultrasound exams and assist with training staff and students. Operate equipment and follow protocols. Complete additional duties as assigned.
  • Support and participate in departmental research, QA, and improvement projects. Conduct research-related ultrasound exams as required.
