About The Position

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer, Ultrasonographer) to support operations at the Eureka Veterans Affairs CBOC. The role requires in-depth knowledge of ultrasound scanning, optimizing examination potential, and collecting/communicating clinical information to the Radiologist. Technologists will explain procedures to patients, ensure proper preparation, and collaborate with other technologists on quality improvement activities. Available shifts include days, evenings, and nights, and schedules are subject to change. Ansible is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing solutions in national security, health care, and information technology.

Requirements

  • English language proficiency
  • Registered or registry eligible in Sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the specialized modality in a Level 1 hospital setting
  • Able to work with minimal or no supervision
  • Experience with Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS)
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Agfa PACS is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Maintains in depth knowledge of ultrasound scanning and optimizing examination potential
  • Collects and communicates all pertinent clinical information to the Radiologist
  • Explains exams to the patients as well as proper patient preparation requirements
  • Works closely with other department technologists and continues quality improvement activities on a daily basis
  • Sets up radiographic suites and ensures that sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters, and other required equipment/supplies are present and available
  • Prepares and administers contrast material orally, by enema, or under close supervision of radiologists, intravenously but not independently; as required by procedure or patient’s condition, monitors vital signs (blood pressure and heart rate), and reports any significant changes to a radiologist
  • Lifts, positions, pushes, and transfers patients, supplies, and/or equipment as needed
  • Performs related clerical duties such as sending images to PACS, archiving images, and case editing of computer requests and reports
  • As required, maintains records and enters patient information into the computer through the use of the Radiology Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) package
