About The Position

The Ultrasound Technologist performs Ultrasound exams on patients as ordered by physicians in an ethical and professional manner. This role also assists in all aspects of the Radiology and Ultrasound Department. Elizabethtown Community Hospital (ECH) is part of University of Vermont Health, a six-hospital network serving patients and their families in northern New York and Vermont. This network aims to bring together community and academic medicine, sharing knowledge and resources to provide patients with access to leading-edge technology, advanced treatment options, and the highest level of compassionate care.

Requirements

• Must be registered by the American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in any of the following disciplines: Abdomen, OB/GYN or Vascular.
• Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and family in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Requires positive and effective communicating skills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation.
• Requires the ability to think and act quickly in order to deliver efficient quality care in a variety of stressful situations.
• Must maintain a working knowledge of all ultrasound equipment.
