The Ultrasound Technologist PRN is responsible for preparing exam rooms and equipment, conducting sonography examinations while adhering to safety protocols, and reviewing patient history. The role involves ensuring patient safety and comfort through proper positioning and scanning techniques, applying professional judgment, and capturing accurate diagnostic images. The technologist will also review images for quality assurance, prepare preliminary findings, and provide preliminary reports. Responsibilities include assisting with medical record/image sharing, reporting safety incidents, assisting with daily facility operations, ensuring equipment functionality, and utilizing radiology information systems (including PACS) and electronic medical records for documentation and image archiving. The role also involves collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams, assisting with procedures, and contributing to the education of students and residents. A high level of knowledge in high-level disinfection policy and procedure is required.
