Ultrasound Technologist II
About The Position
The Ultrasound Tech II performs advanced ultrasound services and diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound technology. Ultrasound Technologists play a critical role in the diagnostic process by providing high-quality ultrasound images that assist healthcare providers in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. This role involves managing more complex patient cases and providing specialized care to patients with unique medical needs or conditions, potentially collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop tailored imaging plans and treatment strategies. The technologist will operate ultrasound machines to produce real-time images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and blood flow, select appropriate imaging techniques and settings to capture clear and accurate images, and interpret these images in real-time to assess the structure, size, shape, and function of organs and tissues. They will identify any abnormalities, lesions, or pathology and communicate findings to radiologists or referring physicians. Proficiency in advanced imaging techniques and technologies, such as contrast-enhanced ultrasound, or ultrasound-guided procedures (biopsies, aspirations, injections, thoracentesis, and paracentesis procedures) is expected. The role also includes performing a wider range of ultrasound examinations, including more complex or specialized imaging studies, such as obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, abdominal, cardiac, or musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Requirements
- RVT(ARDMS), RVS (CCI) or VS (ARRT) certification required within 90 days of hire and maintain.
- Requires additional certification from ARDMS in Abdomen, Breast or /OB-GYN
- Graduate an accredited vascular ultrasound program or current certification as identified in #1 and graduation within 90 days of hire
- Current BCLS certificate required upon hire and maintain current
- Proficient computer skills
