Position Summary: Under the general guidance of the physicians/providers performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited program for Ultrasonography preferred or hospital ultrasonography training and experience.
  • Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days after hire date.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Ultrasonography preferred or hospital ultrasonography training and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs sonographic examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician.
  • Provides age-appropriate care to patients across the lifespan.
  • Maintains supplies and ensures a clean, orderly work area; notifies supervisor of needed items.
  • Maintains and calibrates equipment to ensure accuracy and longevity.
  • Acts as a consultant and educational resource for physicians and staff regarding appropriateness and accuracy of scans.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
