About The Position

Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital is seeking an Ultrasound Technician to join their team. This is a PRN role, meaning work will be on an as-needed basis. The Ultrasound Technician will be responsible for providing quality ultrasound studies including abdominal, OB, vascular, neonatal, pelvic, breast, and small parts exams for interpretation by the radiologist in the diagnosis of patient illness. The role involves ensuring patient comfort, operating ultrasound equipment, maintaining supplies and work areas, keeping accurate records, assisting with scheduling, and ensuring smooth patient flow.

Requirements

• Graduate of a diagnostic medical sonography or radiology program required.
• Graduate of an accredited DMS program or ARRT/DMS certification
• BLS required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of diagnostic medical sonography experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives patient, explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable.
• Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
• Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
• Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
• Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.
