About The Position

Perform ultrasound procedures at a technical level sufficient to provide adequate diagnosis with limited supervision and in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures on patients ranging in age from pediatric to geriatric. Establishes and maintains quality control procedures for the ultrasound department. Assists physicians during special procedures. Communicates exam information to physicians. Ensures proper charges are captured on a daily basis. Performs all ultrasound duties for the hospital and Imaging Center as required. In addition, may be required to perform other duties as assigned. Reports to the Director of Imaging. ARDMS in Abdomen and RVT required.

Requirements

  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must be able to prioritize own work flow with minimal direction.
  • Must possess skills to function well within a face paced environment, and have ability to work effectively with other departments.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Under general direction performs a variety of ultrasound procedures at a skilled technical level requiring the ability to apply methods for diagnosis.
  • Performs related work as required.
  • ARDMS License in Abdomen (AB) required.
  • RVT Required within one year.
  • Breast certification required within one year.
  • CPR Required.
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization

Nice To Haves

  • Two years previous experience preferred.
  • Two years breast ultrasound and breast biopsy ultrasound preferred.
  • Specialties in ObGyn, Breast ARDMS specialty preferred.
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
