Requirements
- Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) recognized by the American Heart Association
- Current registry by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (or must be registry-eligible and obtain registry within one year of employment in technologist position)
- Must be registered through ARDMS with AB, OB/GYN and RVT (Practice and State Specific)
Responsibilities
- Performs high-quality ultrasound exams using proper techniques, equipment settings, and independent judgment to capture accurate diagnostic images
- Ensures patient care and safety, including preparation, positioning, communication, and adherence to universal precautions
- Supports radiologists with image-guided procedures (e.g., paracentesis, thoracentesis, hysterosonograms)
- Manages workflow and documentation, including RIS/PACS, scheduling coordination, patient communication, and accurate recordkeeping
- Maintains quality control and compliance, including equipment QA, ACR standards, and ongoing professional development
