About The Position

Shriners Children's is seeking a part-time Sonographer Ultrasound Tech to join their team in Lexington, KY. This role involves utilizing ultrasound equipment to locate, evaluate, and record anatomical, pathological, and functional data to aid physicians in diagnosing disease and injury. The position requires the ability to provide service to the pediatric population and competence in serving a culturally diverse patient base. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 20 hours per week.

Requirements

American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 3 months of hire date
2 years of related work experience

Nice To Haves

1 year of pediatric abdominal ultrasound experience

Responsibilities

Maintains and monitors quality assessment practices and procedures to ensure appropriate and proper patient care
Accurately interprets oral and written requests stated in radiologic and medical terms
Notifies imaging manager of equipment malfunction and obtains necessary repairs.
Performs other operational functions, in support of assigned department to ensure quality services
Assists in maintaining imaging files to ensure easy irretrievability in a timely manner.
Successfully scans and records ultrasound images of the patient’s anatomy, as ordered by the physician
Assists in the preparation of images for interpretation and imaging reports.
