Requirements

• Must be flexible in covering different locations.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• 1-3 years of work experience.
• American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification is mandatory.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification required.
• 1-3 years of Ultrasound Experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs sonographic procedures according to department standards in a timely and efficient manner.
• Provides patient education prior to, during, and subsequent to the procedure to reduce anxiety and enhance comfort.
• Produces examinations that meet image quality standards according to department protocols.
• Submits images for physician interpretation.
• Verifies accuracy of patient demographic information, pertinent clinical diagnosis, and required technical results.
• Enters data accurately and in a timely fashion to provide optimal patient care.
• Verifies all technical data entry components are complete prior to the end of shift.
• Monitors stock of supplies in imaging rooms to assure their regular availability by timely reordering, rotation of dated items, and by maintenance of a clean and orderly environment.
• Reports incidences of equipment failure.
• Actively supports organizational changes.
• Adheres to institutional safety procedures as described in the institutional safety program.
• Actively participates in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Works closely with nurses and physicians to achieve positive outcomes and optimal patient flow.
• Performs job functions while modeling service principles with a customer service focus of innovation, service excellence, and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to patients, families, co-workers, and others.
