About The Position

Mercy Medical Center is hiring an Ultrasound Tech for its Reisterstown location. The position performs ultrasound exams and procedures as ordered by referring physicians and handles the activities associated with each test or procedure. These include identifying patients, educating patients and family members, validating orders and ordering physicians, completing paperwork and Meditech entries, transferring images, and ensuring that ordering physicians receive final results. The role requires general sonography experience, accredited ultrasound training, relevant certification and Maryland licensure, along with strong patient-care, communication, teamwork, customer-service, flexibility, and multitasking skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of experience in general sonography.
• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program with ARDMS certification.
• Ultrasonographers with an RT license must meet the stated license requirement.
• Must be licensed to practice in Maryland (BPQA).
• Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
• ARRT certification if the technologist is a practicing RT.
• Skills in ultrasound procedures, communication, patient care, teamwork, customer service, flexibility with procedures, and multitasking.

Responsibilities
