About The Position

The Ultrasound Tech performs a wide range of ultrasound and vascular studies, utilizing high-frequency soundwaves to capture images of internal organs. Independently conduct routine and complex exams both in the department and in portable settings. Coordinate technical procedures, including modifications as needed for patient-specific needs. The Ultrasound Tech acts as a liaison with radiologists or referring clinicians, especially in cases of significant findings requiring immediate attention. Interpret requests from radiologists and medical officers, ensuring each scan meets diagnostic standards. Prepare examination rooms, verify patient identity, and properly position patients for optimal scan quality. Perform ultrasound exams on various body areas including abdominal, pelvic, vascular, and other diagnostic regions. Assist Interventional Radiologists during intra-operative procedures. The Ultrasound Tech maintains and troubleshoots ultrasound equipment, ensuring accurate results and compliance with quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of recent experience as an Ultrasound Technologist in a hospital setting, including inpatient units, Emergency Department (ED), and Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
  • Full, current, and unrestricted license in any U.S. state or territory.
  • Certification as a Sonographer through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or an equivalent recognized by ARDMS.
  • Possess BLS and ACLS certification.
