About The Position

Performs Ultrasound scans as well as procedures in a fast-paced inpatient and outpatient setting. Technologist will rotate between fixed and portable imaging and utilizes an EMR for exam tracking. The Ultrasound Tech must be effective with communication, clinical skills, and able to work positively in a high stress environment with patients, peers, families and other internal / external personnel. The Ultrasound Tech is responsible for carrying out the mission and goals of UF Health Shands, assuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the patients care. Other duties will be assigned within the scope and licensure of the Ultrasound Tech.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an Ultrasound training program.
  • Extensive prior work experience as an ultrasound Technologist may be substituted for formal education.
  • Requires ultrasound registry by ARDMS or ARRT (Ultrasound) and Vascular registry by ARDMS, ARRT or CCI.
  • One registry is required at time of hire (Abdomen, OBGYN, or Vascular preferred).
  • Second registration must be completed within 6 months of hire.
  • Holds current BLS certification.
