Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3 years experience in general sonography.
• Graduate of an Ultrasound accredited program with ARDMS certification.
• Ultrasonographers with RT License.
• Licensed to practice in Maryland (BPQA).
• Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist if technologist is a practicing RT).
• Skills in Ultrasound procedures, communication, good patient care, team work, customer service, procedure flexibility, and multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Performs all ultrasound exams/procedures as ordered by referring physicians.
• Responsible for all peripheral activities associated with each test/procedure, including patient identification, educating patients and family members, validating orders and ordering physicians, completing all paperwork, completing all Meditech entries, transferring images, and ensuring ordering physicians receive final results.
