About The Position

The ultrasound technologist provides diagnostic ultrasound services to patients. This job description outlines the essential functions of the role, its place within the organization, and the skill and work requirements. The position involves direct patient care for patients aged 18 and older, requiring age-specific experience and/or training.

Requirements

  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification.
  • At least one-year experience in diagnostic ultrasound in a hospital setting required.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and complete diagnostic ultrasound procedures accurately.
  • Explain procedures to patients, acquire appropriate consent forms and paperwork.
  • Follow radiation safety protocol at all times.
  • Provide care appropriate to the age of the population served.
  • Complete assignments on time and utilize time effectively.
  • Support cost containment efforts through conservation of supplies and care of equipment.
  • Clean examination rooms and other supporting equipment.
  • Establish good rapport and working relationships with all staff.
  • Complete appropriate documentation.
  • Communicate in English in patient care areas.
  • Report unusual occurrences, situations, or hazards to appropriate personnel.
  • Report any malfunctioning of equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety, infection control, and emergency policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Incorporate CORE values into a daily routine.
  • Adhere to general hospital/departmental policies regarding dress code, safety, timekeeping, and attendance.
  • Comply with mandatory meetings, health evaluations, CPR certification, and other credential requirements.
  • Conduct all activities in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Promote the highest standards of business ethics and integrity.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of patient information and protect confidential and proprietary information.
  • Avoid actual or apparent conflicts of interest, making full disclosure and taking appropriate action.
  • Conduct business transactions at arm's length, without improper inducements.
  • Exercise responsible stewardship to preserve and protect organizational assets.
  • Accept responsibility and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain an environment of respect and value.
  • Communicate any legal or ethical violations or concerns immediately.
