About The Position

Performs Ultrasound studies for diagnosis and treatment requiring independent judgement and initiative. Additional Essential Job Functions: - Perform imaging exams in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws, collaborating with physician to evaluate images and report abnormalities immediately - Follow established protocols for all imaging equipment, performing all routine daily, weekly, monthly and periodic maintenance and functions checks - Assist during exams, treatments and procedures, including chaperoning correlating findings with procedure being performed and ensuring Time-Out observed on appropriate procedures according to policy - Demonstrate proficiency at inserting and maintaining IVs - Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established policies and procedures - Demonstrate ability to perform laboratory Quality Controls and Assessments, and routine daily, weekly, monthly and periodic maintenance and function according to Laboratory Policy and Procedure - Ensure proper supplies, appropriate medical equipment and medications are available for patient care and Par levels meet facility needs - Participates in QAPI activities including participation in accreditation preparation and survey process, and maintenance of accreditation, state, and CMS standards - Adheres to established facility/departmental policies and procedures - Prepare patient meals as needed in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols - Attends and participates in all applicable facility meetings,'training and development workshops - Performs all other duties as assigned by Manager.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an Ultrasound training program.
  • Extensive prior work experience as an ultrasound Technologist may be substituted for formal education.
  • Requires ultrasound registry by ARDMS or ARRT (Ultrasound) and Vascular registry by ARDMS, ARRT or CCI.
  • Holds current BLS certification.
