Ultrasound Tech, (Breast Certified) Per Diem Day
About The Position
Reporting to and functioning under the general supervision of the Supervisor, the Ultrasound Technologist prepares for and operates ultrasound equipment following specific physicians orders. This role involves producing detailed computer-generated scans of patients, specifically for breast imaging, and ensuring patient identification and proper archiving of exams on the PACS. The technologist is also responsible for maintaining facilities and staying updated on new departmental imaging techniques. Additionally, the position requires performing various ultrasound and color Doppler exams and assisting radiologists with invasive procedures.
Requirements
- Completion from an accredited ultrasound program
- ARDMS registered, or registry eligible
- Breast certification required
- Must obtain registry within one (1) year of employment (if registry eligible)

- One to two year's experience as an ultrasound technologist
Responsibilities
- Prepares for and operates ultrasound equipment following specific physicians orders
- Produces detailed computer generated scans of patients for imaging of the breast
- Verifies patients identification prior to scan
- Selects patient from work list
- Ensures exam is archived on the PACS
- Maintains facilities in proper order
- Keeps abreast of all new departmental imaging
- Performs a variety of ultrasound, color Doppler exams
- Assists the radiologist with various invasive procedures
