About The Position

This position is responsible for reviewing appointment schedules and suggesting changes to maximize the use of available resources (equipment and staff) to ensure efficient patient and physician service. The Ultrasound/Sonographer II operates and maintains proficiency on all Ultrasound equipment, performs patient procedures using appropriate scanning techniques, and ensures images are correctly labeled with patient information. The schedule involves two 12-hour shifts one weekend per month.

Requirements

• Previous hospital experience preferred
• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
• Successfully completion of physics boards and abdominal boards through ARDMS
• Candidate must be CPR Certified
• Registered with ARDMS in Abdomen

Responsibilities

• Reviews appointment schedules and suggests changes necessary to provide maximum use of the available resources (re: equipment and staff) in order to assure the most efficient service to the patients and physicians.
• Operates and maintains proficiency on all Ultrasound equipment within the department in order to provide quality imaging.
• Performs patient procedures and provides appropriate scanning techniques and images.
• Images are labeled with correct name and identification number.
