Requirements

Certificate Degree in Ultrasound
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, or
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS)

Responsibilities

Utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care.
Directly interact with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for scans.
Meticulously operate sonographic equipment, adjusting settings and patient positions to ensure clear, diagnostic images.
Monitor and care for patients to ensure their safety and comfort.
Select and examine images for pathologies, and present preliminary findings to Physicians.
Assure that good safety practices are utilized for the protection of patients, staff and self.
Educate patient, family and others, as appropriate, in regard to procedures the patient may be having. Provides the necessary documentation as appropriate.
Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work and assures that rooms are stocked with the necessary supplies and accessories.
Display competency operating teleradiology system.
Perform examinations according to workload and as directed by departmental lead or charge person.
Display competency operating equipment and performing procedures in the department, in the operating room, and on a mobile basis.
