About The Position

Christie Clinic's department of Vein and Vascular is seeking a full-time Ultrasonographer - Vascular (Sign-On Bonus Available) at the Danville at the Riverfront clinic from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements. The work involves a wide range of vascular ultrasound procedures. These procedures produce results for Physicians in the diagnosis of diseases.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited Sonography program
Have Vascular Sonography license
Demonstrate clinical experience with vascular studies
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Vascular (RVT) certification required.
Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR) certification preferred OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Sonography (S) Vascular (RVT) certifications required Breast (BS) certifications preferred OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) required.
CPR Certification

Previous accreditation experience with ICAVL is helpful.

Responsibilities

Greet patients with eye contact, introduce yourself, and verify correct patient by using proper patient identifiers.
Verify correct ordering provider and exam.
Explain exam and educate patients on procedure.
Independently perform a wide range of Vascular Ultrasound procedures including Carotid, ABI’s and WBI’s, Reflux studies, Vein mapping, Graft scanning, Aorta’s, and DVT studies.
Greet the patient, explain the procedure, prepare and position the patient, select appropriate transducers and other necessary items for the procedure.
Verify that the exam on the worklist is the correct exam and that the accession number matches the number on the order.
Evaluate the clinical history, and document history to record into the PACS notes.
Recognize the need for additional imaging and/or positioning to fully illustrate the area in question.
Adjust frequency, gain, depth, focal zone, size and field of view.
Use harmonics or color Doppler and other factors as necessary.
Verify the images on the PACS system, making certain that all images have arrived and all notes are correct.
Maintains CPR certifications and all necessary CE points in accordance’s with the ACR and IEMA.
Perform other duties as assigned.
