Requirements

  • Associate’s degree Allied Health, Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program (Required)
  • Experience in Clinical Allied Health
  • In Perinatal areas, Nuchal Translucency Testing Certification is Required
  • BLS Physics
  • BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Required
  • RDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or ARRT (US) Required
  • This position requires RDMS in the appropriate field and must meet the minimum continuing education requirements of the registry and ACR/AIUM as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • In the mammography specialty, must demonstrate competencies in breast ultrasound, perform guided ultrasound procedures, and prefer a GXMO to perform DEXA (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates ability to consistently produce and evaluate diagnostic sonograms for radiologic interpretation
  • Demonstrates competency through ongoing CBE's.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of equipment and its operating procedures through CBE's.
  • Selects proper imaging protocols and follows departmental procedures.
  • Demonstrates organizational and communication skills to promote the well-being of the department.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members.
  • Maintains accurate records through the completion of all paperwork. Work is completed before submitting.
  • Provides for patient, family, and staff comfort and care prior to, during, and after a procedure.
  • Recognizes and responds appropriately to emergent situations.
