About The Position

Corewell Health Grosse Pointe Hospital is a 280-bed acute care campus. Opened in 1945, it offers medical, surgical, emergency, obstetric, and critical care services. It is home to the Cotton Family Birth Center, designated a Baby-Friendly® birth center, and The James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center, a leading-edge hybrid surgical suite. This role involves performing accurate and efficient Ultrasound exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Technologists must demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation, following the Corewell Health philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent
  • Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
  • Minimal experience as gained at student level.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required OR CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Sonographer (S) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDE Cardiac 1 Year required
  • CRT-Breast Sonographer (BS) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDES Cardiac, General, Vascular 1 Year required
  • CRT-Abdomen (AB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDES Cardiac EXCLUDES Vascular 1 Year required OR CRT-Ob/Gyn (OB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDES Cardiac EXCLUDES Vascular 1 Year required OR CRT-Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RDCS) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Cardiac 1 Year required OR CRT-Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RCS) - Cardiac 1 Year required
  • CRT-Vascular Technologist (VT) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Within 1 year of hire required for Vascular Department

Responsibilities

  • Under site designate leader, and according to established policies and procedures performs accurate and efficient Ultrasound exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
  • Technologists must demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation.
