This position performs ultrasound examinations according to established department policies and procedures. The technologist will be proficient in general, vascular, and breast Ultrasound. They will manage several patients and priorities, adapting to a fast-paced work environment, and collaborate positively and effectively with all members of the healthcare team. The role requires maintaining a high level of technical proficiency and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in ultrasound technology. Responsibilities also include assisting in maintaining and managing ultrasound equipment and supplies, preparing exam rooms and equipment, preparing patients for examinations, explaining procedures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The technologist will practice sterile and isolation techniques, assist the department in meeting federal and state regulations, and participate in identifying and correcting required changes. They will process images and send them through the PACS system to the Radiologist for interpretation and report any abnormalities to the appropriate medical staff. Additional duties may be assigned.
