UI / UX Director

About The Position

We are looking for a multidisciplinary UI/UX Director to join our digital game team at Wizards of the Coast and be responsible for defining the visual identity and functional architecture of our game’s interface. As a UI/UX Director, you will ensure that complex data is translated into intuitive player experiences while maintaining alignment with the artistic direction and the core mechanics of a core RPG.

Requirements

7+ years of UI/UX experience in game development, including experience leading teams or owning UI direction.
A strong understanding of user-centered design, information hierarchy, and player experience.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and communicating creative vision to stakeholders.
Proficiency with modern UI/UX design tools and an understanding of implementation pipelines.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and a passion for creating inclusive player experiences.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance visual quality with usability.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Dungeons & Dragons and roleplaying game systems, with the ability to translate complex tabletop mechanics into digital interfaces.
Solid understanding of best practices for intuitive, player-centric design and video game accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

Lead the vision, design, and implementation of the game's user interface, including menus, HUD, navigation, and interface effects.
Create intuitive UI that makes complex gameplay systems easy to understand and enjoyable to use.
Partner with Art, Narrative, Gameplay, and Engineering teams to ensure the UI feels seamless within the overall player experience.
Champion accessibility and player customization by designing flexible, inclusive interface solutions.
Guide and mentor the UI/UX team, providing feedback and supporting their growth throughout development.
Oversee UI production from early concepts through final implementation, maintaining quality and consistency at every stage.
Help define UI workflows, best practices, and visual standards for the project.
