UI/UX Designer The Opportunity: You know that a good tool, system, or site is more than just the code, infrastructure, and a nice-looking interface – it’s the way it addresses a user’s needs. As an experience designer, you put yourself in the user’s place and design the best way for them to e nga ge with the tool, system, or site. We’re looking for someone creative like you to work with a team of SMEs, developers, and designers to craft the ultimate User Experience ( UX ) . Let's transform the way a user interacts with web applications, training simulation applications, and simulation design. In this role, you’ll work closely with the product manager on your team to understand your clients’ vision and their users’ needs. Working on an agile team, you’ll build skills in designing large-scale digital experiences that are as intuitive as they are aesthetically pleasing. You’ll be involved with the full spectrum of the digital creative process, including user research, information architecture, wireframing, rapid prototyping, interface design, and front-end development. You’ll advocate for the prioritizations of design- center ed changes, refinements, and improvements, all the while keeping the end-user at the center of your work. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working on graphic design projects and creative direction assignments
  • Experience developing accessible and responsive web applications using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, or TypeScript, including with advanced styling and dynamic UI behavior
  • Experience developing wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma
  • Ability to provide a design portfolio, including graphic design, infographics, instructional materials, posters, and responsive web design
  • Ability to deliver innovative solutions and superior visual communication products, including infographics, publications, instructional materials, brochures, posters, banners, fact sheets, executive-level presentations, digital marquees, and digital and web advertisements
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RESTful web services and collaborating within an Agile and Scrum team
  • Experience delivering maintainable code through modern version control tools such as Git or Bitbucket
  • Experience with greenfield visual interface and navigation design for intuitive user experiences through RWD principles and client-side input validation
  • Experience ensuring design consistency across platforms while adhering to brand management guidelines and mobile design guidelines, including Material Design for Android and Human Interface Guidelines for iOS
  • Experience with front-end web development
  • Experience with end-user testing and user interviews
  • Knowledge of human- center ed design met hodology or design thinking principles
  • Knowledge of Wagtail, WordPress, Joomla!, or other content management systems, HTML, or CSS
  • Ability to be a self-starter, pay strict attention to detail, and multitask across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
