About The Position

CNS Companies is seeking a UI/UX Designer to design the interface and experience for their internal, custom-built operations and compliance software platform, which is utilized by trucking companies and fleet operators. The role involves translating product requirements into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces and workflows, leveraging an existing component library and design patterns. The UI/UX Designer will collaborate closely with the Product Manager, focusing on designing consistent user experiences and identifying usability issues. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy solving usability problems, prefer consistent daily design tasks, and aim to enhance their skills on a live product.

Requirements

1 to 3 years of experience designing UI/UX for web applications (portfolio required)
A good eye for usability, not just visual design
Comfort working within an existing design system and component library
Ability to take direction, ask good questions, and iterate quickly based on feedback
Strong attention to detail, especially for complex forms and data-heavy screens
Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Responsibilities

Create wireframes and high fidelity mockups for new features and screens
Design intuitive workflows for multi-step processes, data tables, dashboards, and forms
Recommend usability improvements to existing features and workflows
Follow and apply the existing component library and design patterns
Iterate quickly on designs based on feedback from the Product Manager and engineers
Prepare clear, dev-ready designs for handoff
Partner with the Product Manager and engineers to understand requirements
Ask clarifying questions and raise usability concerns early
Answer design questions during implementation
Review built features against designs before release
