About The Position

As an engineer on the UI Frameworks team, you will contribute to features and APIs across SwiftUI and UIKit that reach all of Apple's platforms and over a billion users. You will help bring ideas to life across all stages of development: initial research, API design and proposals, testing and development in Swift, documentation, and guidance for adopters. You'll join energetic discussions on each other's work and ideas, alongside members of other teams with a variety of perspectives and domain expertise. You'll learn from the engineers who build these frameworks every day, and your ownership will grow as you do. The UI Frameworks team is responsible for the core SwiftUI and UIKit frameworks and works closely with UI framework teams across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. You'll also have the opportunity to collaborate with experts throughout Apple, including compiler engineers, interface designers, and technical writers. Curious, enterprising people who take an expansive view of their role will thrive in this multi-disciplinary environment. Our goal is to dramatically improve the correctness, performance, and polish of apps across all of Apple's platforms, making it easier for beginners to get started and empowering seasoned pros to make their apps shine. Because we collaborate closely with the Swift, Xcode, design, and framework teams up and down the software stack, we believe Apple's UI frameworks can be the best app development experience in the world. If you're interested in helping build this future, we'd love to hear from you!
