About The Position

Responsible for assisting crew with tasks as required to perform underground service installation and repair projects i.e., material loading and unloading, equipment loading and unloading, hand digging, gathering and assembling material required to complete tasks at multiple locations, install conduits and cables, and other tasks as required. Responsibilities will also include working on lines and equipment up to 600 volts unsupervised. Position is 5 day work week, 40-50 hours and on call as needed, travel may also be required.May be required to work weekends, evenings and holidays. May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.

Requirements

  • 1-2 year minimum underground electric distribution service work experience required
  • Must be qualified to work on energized and de-energized lines and equipment up to 600 volts
  • Must be able to meet all UG Service Skilled Labor B Requirements
  • If not certified, will be required to attend certification courses
  • Requires basic skills in math
  • Must be able to fluently read, write, speak and comprehend English
  • Must follow all safe work practices
  • Must be computer literate
  • May be required to work weekends, evenings and holidays
  • Valid Texas Driver License in good standing throughout their employment

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Additional formal or occupational education focused on electrical services and construction is helpful
  • State wide travel preferable
  • Valid Class A CDL and DOT Medical Card Preferred
