About The Position

Under indirect supervision in an OCONUS environment, the UAS Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of aircraft and related equipment. This role performs monitoring, testing, preventive maintenance, and repairs on infrastructure equipment and associated electrical, mechanical, and sensor integration systems in accordance with customer requirements, specifications, and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and 2-5 years of relevant experience (for Level II) or 5+ years of relevant experience (for Level III).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to perform routine and preventive maintenance on aircraft systems, subsystems, and ground support equipment.
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting engines, flight controls, avionics, technology systems, and associated components.
  • Knowledge of rigging equipment and safe rigging techniques.
  • Familiarity with military aviation operations.
  • Up to 100% CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required.
  • Must currently possess and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • May be required to operate a vehicle with a manual transmission.

Nice To Haves

  • Military aviation maintenance experience.
  • Experience supporting deployed UAS ISR operations.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification.
  • Experience with composite, structural, and mechanical repairs.
  • Experience supporting expeditionary or overseas operations.
  • Experience with Group 3, Group 4, or Group 5 UAS platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Perform unmanned aviation ground handling operations.
  • Conduct UAV launch and recovery activities.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot aircraft systems and subsystems.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of aircraft structures.
  • Respond to and resolve emergency situations as they arise.
  • Ensure standards are implemented and upheld in daily operations.
  • Maintain equipment used to support aircraft mission operations.
  • Analyze and interpret equipment log reports and maintenance records.
  • Diagnose and resolve operational and maintenance issues.
  • Perform other duties as necessary and/or required.
