UAS MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN/INSTRUCTOR III
About The Position
Under indirect supervision, the UAS Maintenance Technician/Instructor III will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all aircraft and related equipment. This role is responsible for monitoring, testing, preventive maintenance, and repair of infrastructure equipment and associated electrical, mechanical, and sensor systems in accordance with specifications and operational procedures within client technical facilities. The Technician will also serve as an instructor, providing technical training and hands-on instruction to internal personnel and/or customers on UAS system operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance procedures to ensure safe and effective field performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to perform routine and preventive maintenance on aircraft systems, subsystems, and ground support equipment.
- Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting engines, flight controls, avionics, technology systems, and associated components.
- Knowledge of rigging equipment and safe rigging techniques.
- Ability to travel up to 75% CONUS and OCONUS.
- Must currently possess and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
- May be required to operate vehicles with a manual transmission.
Nice To Haves
- Military flight experience is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting deployed UAS ISR operations.
- Composite, structural, and mechanical repair experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform unmanned aviation ground handling operations.
- Conduct UAV launch and recovery operations.
- Maintain and troubleshoot aircraft systems and subsystems.
- Perform maintenance and repair of aircraft structures.
- Deliver training programs to new UAV Maintenance Technicians, ensuring adherence to operational protocols and safety standards.
- Respond to and resolve emergency situations as they arise.
- Ensure standards are implemented and upheld in daily activities.
- Maintain equipment used to support aircraft mission operations.
- Analyze and interpret equipment log reports.
- Diagnose and resolve operational problems.
- Perform other duties as necessary and/or required.
